Spaghetti and Meatballs

I absolutely love meatballs! It's easy to make. It takes little time. It's a quick way to fix a delicious meal. (Click here for other meatballs recipes.) This recipe calls for milk for the meat mixture, which gives meatballs a soft texture. I also like to bake meatballs instead of pan frying. However, if you like to pan fry your meatballs, go ahead, no big deal. I just like my meatballs smooth and soft.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Ingredients:

Meatballs-
1 cup plain bread crumbs or panko
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Sauce- (or your favorite red pasta sauce)
3 tablespoons of tomato paste
1 can of tomato sauce (about 14 oz)
1/2 cup fresh parmasan cheese (You may add more if the sauce tastes too tomato-y.)
1/4 cup craft 100% grated parmasan cheese
1 1/2 tablespoon italian seasoning
1 teaspoon Santa Maria seasoning
1 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
salt and pepper to taste

Mozzarella cheese and parsley flakes for garnish

Direction:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix all meatball ingredients in a large bowl. Form into 1 to 2-inch balls and line up on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through.

In medium saucepan over medium heat, mix the tomato sauce and the paste. Add the rest ingredients and reduce heat to simmer. (Or simmer your favorite pasta sauce) Remove the sauce from the heat and pour it over the cooked meatballs in a large bowl. Sprinkle some mozzarella cheese and parsley flakes over the meatballs.

Serve the meatballs over your favorite pasta.

  1. I love spaghetti and meatballs too. Not really a summer food, but it makes me hungry reading the recipe!
