Sausage and Vegetable Pizza

Every once in a while, our family craves homemade pizza - which is usually a lot healthier than the ones from pizza places - Although I am completely capable of making our own pizza dough :), we used pillsbury pizza dough, since I didn't want to spend so much time on a meal. This pizza is rich with different toppings and pretty tasty.

Sausage and Vegetable Pizza

Ingredients:
2 pillsbury Pizza dough
Pizza sauce (Recipe follows)

Topping: (Use half of these ingredients per pizza)
3-4 cups Italian cheese
1 lbs Sweet Italian sausage, cut into small bites, cooked and drained
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1/2 red onion, sliced or diced
1/4 cup black olives, sliced
1/2 cup brown mushrooms, sliced
1 tomato, diced

Direction:
On a baking sheet, or a pizza pan, sprinkle cornmeal so the dough doesn't stick on the pan. Spread the dough out either in square or in circle, forming a crust on the edges. On the dough, pizza sauce, then pizza toppings in the order shown in the ingredients section. Sprinkle some cheese on top and bake at 425 degrees about 15-18 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

Pizza sauce:
1 can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

In a saucepan, mix all the ingredients and simmer until the sauce starts forming bubbles around the edge of the pan. Stir occasionally.
